Poster Presentations

The ORS can assist faculty members and students with the preparation of a rolled sheet, large-format poster for poster presentations.

The College will cover the cost for the preparation of two posters per student each academic year.

The large-format posters, headings, text, figures, and tables are to be arranged on a single large PowerPoint slide, which is then printed.

Large-Format Posters

Upon request, an ORS RA will provide assistance for preliminary formatting and minor editing work to prepare the large-format poster. Your poster will be printed in-house on the ORS plotter. For posters that will be presented outside of UF CON and/or more than once, the ORS will reimburse you for the costs of laminating at an outside vendor (e.g., Target Copy). For reimbursement, complete a Requisition to Purchase form (the ORS office manager can provide you with the form), attach your receipt, and turn it into the ORS. Note: Reimbursement can take up to 8 weeks.

There are four templates, each in either 3'x 4' or 3' x 5', available to use in creating the large-format posters in PowerPoint. The full color template can only be used for non-local conferences (regional, national, or international) and must have prior approval before printing. After saving the template to your hard drive or network drive, alter the headings and/or format to suit your purposes.

Requesting Poster Preparation Assistance and/or Printing

To request assistance or printing services for a poster preparation from the ORS:

If you are requesting printing services of a large-format poster only, the ORS program assistant will contact you if there are any questions about formatting or color selection. If requested, the program assistant will also assist with formatting and/or proofreading your presentation and return it to you for review before printing.
