Postmaster's study at the UF College of Nursing
The College of Nursing's master's degree program is available to students who already have a master's degree in nursing and wish to be nationally certified in another specialty area. They can receive a postmaster's certificate in any of our specialty tracks.

The UF Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is one of Florida's oldest and most prestigious advanced practice nursing programs.
The UF College of Nursing offers postmaster's students access to a unique variety of educational and clinical experiences as well as a wealth of expert nursing faculty and technological resources. A UF nursing education is unparalleled, with access to the six colleges of the Health Science Center and their associated health care delivery network, which provide students access to an integrated system of community hospitals and clinics, home health care and quaternary care.
Unique aspects of the UF MSN Program
- Courses are offered at the College's Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses with interactive audio-visual communication a component of some courses.
- Many courses are web-based to increase daytime access to optimal clinical experiences and almost all courses have a web-enhanced component.
- Enrollment in web courses is limited. Priority is given to students residing outside of the Gainesville and Jacksonville areas and to students enrolled in the Clinical Nurse Leader Track.
- Classes specific to advanced practice clinical areas of Adult, Acute Care, Midwifery, Psychiactric-Mental Health and Pediatrics are taught on both campuses. Neonatal courses are scheduled to accommodate out of area students.
- The College of Nursing maintains and participates in nursing and interdisciplinary clinics for children, adults and the elderly with special emphasis on medically underserved and rural populations.
Postmaster's Application Process
Application deadline for students seeking postmaster's study in any MSN clinical track is March 15. (See below for more details)*
*Note: The March 15 deadline for the MSN program indicate the earliest date when the College will begin accepting students. After March 15, applications to the MSN program will be accepted until May 31st and students will be accepted on a space available basis.
The application process for the College of Nursing MSN program for postmaster's applicants involves the following.
1) Post Master's applicants must submit a University of Florida Post-Baccalaureate application .
2) Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are to be submitted to UF as well as the UF College of Nursing to the following address:

**UF graduates are not required to submit transcripts.
3) College of Nursing MSN application materials are to be returned directly to the College of Nursing. Instructions for submission are on the forms. These materials include:
- Personal Data Record
- Statement of Goals
- Letters of Recommendation: academic and clinical
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
